First of all you need to understand that not every girls, or guys for that matter, is the same. With that said, most girls want similar things in their relationships with an added thing here or there. Some want athletic guys, some want “dad-bods”, some don’t care about that. Some want smaller packages, some want larger packages.
All in all just know that the differences are there but the usual things are a partner that is:
Understanding
Take her feelings into account and do not be dismissive.
Caring
Be thoughtful and caring to her. Treat her with love and care.
Be assertive
She wants you to be assertive in your actions. But don’t be an butthole about it. Include her in every decision but be assertive in taking action once the decisions are made.
Acknowledge her
Sometimes we as men, do not take the time to stop and really acknowledge the things our female partners do or put up with in their daily lives. So, stop sometime later and really look deep into her soul. Acknowledge her efforts no matter how big or small they are.
Friendship
Be her friend. Her best friend is even better. She wants to be able to let loose and be herself around you. She wants to tell you her deepest thoughts, secrets, and feelings. And you as her partner need to help her trust in you that she can do those things with you.
Appreciation and Love
Love her. Stop saying “I love you” but never show it. It is hard having to juggle life, work, kids, wife, personal health… it’s non-stop. She understands what you go through and that you have a huge burden on your shoulders that you must be a man. But, she desperately needs you to stop and really show her how much you appreciate and love her.
Sense of humour
Many girls never met a single guy who was very funny.
Strength
Either physical or emotional. Preferably both. Some girls like “gentle giants” though.
Intelligence
Most girls I know are super attracted to smart guys. And if she finds out the guy is really gorgeous but dumb as a door knob, the girls get over them quickly.
Kindness
Yes, some girls are attracted to jerks. But they’re a masochistic minority. Most prefer a guy who could be nice to their mom and puppies.
Good hygiene
That’s a given. No one wants to smell too much body odour and see hairs growing out of your nose. Please.
Loyalty
Most girls are turned off by players. We were all raised on the fairy tales where prince and princess lived happily ever after, not where he texted his side chick.
Courage
I know, guys are human too. You have your moments where you’re intimidated or unsure. But brave men are inherently attractive.
Attraction
A girl wants that the guy to be really into her. Sometimes if a guy is aloof and cold, you’ll have some masochist girls taking it as a challenge. But most girls will just be turned off.
Partnership
This is the last thing I have to place here. But it is perhaps one of the most important because this really encompasses all the above items into one. To be a partner you must be understanding, patient, caring, acknowledging, loving, appreciative, a friend and finally assertive with all of that.
Lots to take in right? Well, that is what it takes to be a man and a parented to a woman. It is actually very easy, especially if you love that person. Trust me, if you love someone, these things will come as second nature.
